Dr. Vanna Stotts Gold, Principal Investigator, Medical Director
Dr. Vanna Stotts Gold is proud to be a Lampasas native. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 2005. From there, she went on to Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Physiology—Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2009. WHOOP! She then attended Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth and graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathy in 2013. She was lucky enough to return to College Station for her Family Medicine residency training at Texas A&M Physicians, which culminated in 2016. Since that time, Dr. Gold has been practicing medicine in her beloved hometown of Lampasas.
Dr. Gold’s clinical research journey started in 2016 as a sub-investigator until she took over as a full-time Principal Investigator in 2021. She has been involved in a multitude of studies that span an array of therapeutic fields: pediatrics, neurology, endocrinology, dermatology, and cardiology, to list a few. Dr. Gold states that it was when she took on a full-time position in clinical research that she fully understood why God’s path for her life led her into medicine. “I absolutely love the work I get to do in clinical research. The outcome of the work is hugely impactful, and we are so blessed to form deep friendships with our patients here at Radiance Clinical Research. I can’t think of a better role to have as a physician—and no better place to be doing it than in Central Texas,” states Dr. Gold.
Her family is a significant source of joy and laughter for her–Dr. Gold married her husband, Edward, in 2013, and they added Raleigh Rose to the family roster in 2018 and Thatcher in 2020. Otis, Sutagen, and Callie are fur family members who are essential to mention as well. Dr. Gold enjoys watching the Texas Rangers and loves serving in YoungLife and at her local church.
In December of 2023, Dr. Gold, Mia Monroe, and Lauren Garner formed Radiance Clinical Research and purchased FMCSCIENCE. Dr. Gold currently serves as Principal Investigator for the newly established company.
Johnna Davis,
Sub-Investigator
Mrs. Davis is a native of Lampasas and a 2004 Lampasas High School graduate. She attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduating with her nursing degree, she entered an internship for Labor and Deliver and, after completion, went on to become a staff nurse on the OB floor, where she worked for three years. Mrs. Davis earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010 from the University of Texas El Paso. She started her career in Research with FMC Science in November of 2016. We were excited to welcome Johnna to the Radiance team in 2023 as a part-time Sub-Investigator.
Mrs. Davis loves the ability to broaden her knowledge base and play a part in the furthering of medicine through research. She especially appreciates the opportunity for the community she cares about to have access to the opportunities of clinical trials.
John V. Sherman, MD, FACOG, PI, SI
Dr. John Sherman started working with Radiance as a Sub-Investigator in 2016. In 2018, he became the Principal Investigator at our Georgetown location. He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center with this Doctor of Medicine in 1995. He then went off to receive his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1999.
Dr. Vincent Sherman
Dr. Sherman is a native Texan, born and raised in Port Arthur and a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1989. He completed his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas in 1993, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Sherman has practiced in Georgetown since 1993 where he and his wife have raised two children. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association and Williamson County Medical Association. He has served as a Board member with the Agape Pregnancy Center of Round Rock since 2004.
Dr. Kelly Montiville
Dr. Montiville is a native of Austin and returned to the area to begin her practice at Georgetown Ob-Gyn in August of 2008. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and is a graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Her professional interests include minimally invasive surgical techniques, adolescent health, urinary incontinence and complete obstetrical care.
Dr. Andrew Cavanagh
Dr. Cavanagh and his wife moved to Austin fifteen years ago, and he has practiced pediatrics in the area ever since. He earned his undergraduate degree in genetics at Texas A&M University. After graduation, he spent a year in China studying culture and language at a university. He returned to the US to attend medical school at Texas A&M and continued his training as a pediatric resident at the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Cavanagh has 15 years of experience as a Pediatrician. He enjoys specializing in ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and Sports Nutrition.
However, most of our younger patients know him as the “Balloon Doctor,” as he has a passion for making balloon animals for all of his patients.
Miranda Afsharirad CPNP
Miranda grew up around Dallas, Texas, and after graduating with her BSN from Texas Christian University, she started her nursing career at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
After five years there, she and her husband moved to North Carolina, where she joined the float pool at Duke Children’s Hospital. There she worked with a variety of different specialties in inpatient and outpatient settings. After three years, they decided to make their way back to the Lone Star State and settled in Austin, where Miranda joined the team in the neurosciences department at Dell Children’s Medical Center. She earned her master’s in nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and her pediatric nurse practitioner certification in 2018.
Miranda has 14 years of Nursing experience. She spent 12 years as an RN and then received her APRN certification in 2018.
Dr. Ashley Wilson
Dr. Wilson graduated from Baylor University with a B.A in Medical Humanities (2011), attended UT Houston Medical School (2016), and completed her pediatric residency at UT Austin Dell Medical School (2019), where she was honored with the Karen Teel Award of Excellence.
Special interests include newborn care and autism spectrum disorder.
Brittany Barron, CPNP
Brittany Eichhorn was born and raised in Victoria, Texas, and she graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2011. She worked as a pediatric nurse for five years in both the inpatient and outpatient settings with the majority of her time spent at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin on the respiratory/medical surgical unit. While working, she went back to The University of Texas at Austin and obtained her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing in 2016. Prior to joining our practice, Brittany worked as a CPNP in primary care settings in both Austin and Corpus Christi, Texas. She has also worked with one of the Pediatric Urology teams.
